02dec2022 UDPATE:

message from the Host: advice on best travel routes when navigating to the tip top of Ladysmith:

Streets are okay here at the moment and should be ploughed by the morning.  Generally speaking the highway, left on Roberts, up to 4th, right on 4th, left on Kitchener is okay as it's an emergency/priority 1 route.  If Roberts hill is a concern for people they can travel to the 1st Ave lights, turn left on 1st from the highway, go through the round-about and then through town, turning right onto Belaire and then left on 4th to Kitchener.

FAMILIES: pls be safe and make wise decisions about travel.  DST Staff member Leanne will be traveling to the Meet.  Please feel free to call 250 710 3278 if you encounter any challenges that affects your swimmer's competition.

The Team's processes shortly following the DST member deadline (27nov2022)

  1. the Coaches will input the Swimmer events selections. 
  2. Confirmed Families will receive an Entries & Fees Report emailed outlining their swimmer's chosen events as well as the cost.  All other details pertaining to the Competition will also be enclosed.
  3. Confirmed Members will then have a minimum of 36hrs as the final deadline.  Day & time specifics will be listed within the Entries & Fees Report email.
  4. Once this final deadline is passed, all members are obligated to the amount listed in the Entries & Fees Report.

To be clear: families can negate any charges if they rescind their confirmation in writing PRIOR to final DST deadline (details listed within then Entries & Fees Report email).  To do so, please change your online declaration on this Event Page or send an email to your Child's coach firstname @duncanstingrays.com / sophie@duncanstingrays.com / or leanne@duncanstingrays.com

Saturday December 3, 2022

Safe Sport Statement: All interactions between an athlete and an individual who is in a position of trust should normally, and wherever possible, be in an environment or space that is both “open” and “observable” to others.

Location: Frank Jameson Community Centre

Warmup: 8:00 am – 8:35 am

Racing: 8:45 am – 12:30 pm

2 blocked warmup sessions will take place

Pool: 4 lane, 25 metre

Eligibility: All swimmers registered with LCSC,DST,NRST,RAC. Age groups are

based on the age of the swimmers as of December 3, 2022

Entries: Meet entries must be emailed prior to the entry deadline to the meet manager. “NT” (No

time) entries will be accepted. If possible create custom times to help with competitive heats and better time lines.

Maximum number of swimmers is set at 100.

Swimmers are to be entered in a maximum of 3 events and time permitting a relay.

Entry Deadline: Meet entries must be emailed to MM no later than November 30 9pm.

Entry Fees: $30.00 per swimmer.

Entry fees must be paid prior to the start of the meet. Please make cheques payable

to the Comox Valley Aquatic Club. Etransfer will be accepted to payments@LCSC.com

Deck Entries: Deck entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis to fill

empty lanes. No new heats will be added. Entries must be accompanied by the

swimmer’s SNC ID# and birth date. Deck entries must be received by the Clerk of

Course 30 minutes before the start of the meet.

Meet Rules: Infractions will be judged and coaches will be notified if seen by officials but will not be penalized so that times can be collected. Trying to make a positive learning experience for swimmers and volunteer officials.

All events are swam mixed gender, slowest to fastest, timed finals.
