Pertaining to the 400 Freestyle. Swimmers ranked as top 8 in their age category will be swimming their 400 on Friday PM as planned. Those ranked 9th place and lower will be racing their swim on Sat at the conclusion of the AM session. Check out the HEAT SHEET for what you can plan on.
19may2022 UPDATE:
- Host has indicated that there is VERY limited spectator seating available and is encouraging all to volunteer as a means to have access to seeing your swimmer race live. To sign up online, please go to https://www.islandswimming.com/event/2022-medley-challenge-virs/job-signup
- Stingrays families: please do your part in supporting the swimming community that your swimmer is benefiting from
- Overflow 400 Freestyle. The top 3 heats of each gender are assured their space on Fri PM session as originally planned. Swimmers outside of the top 3 heats will be swum at the conclusion of the Sat AM session.

The Island Medley Challenge is doubling up as the VIR 11&Over Championships this season. QTs have yet to be released with a potential for loosening the standard. Will update once this is confirmed.
UVic dormitories is an economical option for accommodations for those attending. Pricing has been listed as $64/night (single) & $74/night (double) with shared bathrooms + common room with TV, seating, sink, and microwave. If interested in booking, please contact Janice to be included on a group booking and potentially secure a full floor for our swimmers.
* to note: recommendation is to book Thurs - Sun to ensure a space between Heats & Finals on the Fri. Not necessary but will benefit your swimmer's performances, especially come Sunday's sessions.
The Annual Island Swimming Club's Medley Challenge is on!
This is a Heats & Finals competition (assuming!). Attending members please be prepared to be in attendance for both sessions on the day(s) of your participation.
