DST ENDEAVOURS TO PROVIDE AMPLE FUNDRAISING EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE SEASON. PLEASE WATCH YOUR EMAIL INBOX AND THIS WEB PAGE!
Monday, September 21st, 2009
Our first fundraiser of the year is upon us already, sponsored by Timberwest! Next weekend (Sept 26 and 27), our team has the opportunity of making some money by selling u-cut firewood permits and manning the gates in an area designated for such up on the Malahat.
Shifts will begin at 7:30 am and run until 4:30 pm both Saturday and Sunday. The location of the gates is right near the Aerie Resort and Restaurant. Signs will be up on the highway in both directions, so it shouldn't be difficult to find.
Permits will sell for $20/load. There will also be a more formal arrangement with specially piled logs etc for $40 per load (and up depending on size of load). We need to have 2 people manning the gates at all times. The number and length of the shifts will depend on the number of DST people wanting to participate. We try to have at least 1 male on shift at all times. The total amount raised throughout the weekend will be divided evenly amongst participants according to time spent, and will be put in your swimmer's fundraising account. Since this may be the only weekend our team gets to do this, I want to make sure that everyone who is interested has the opportunity to participate.
Please email me (fundraising@duncanstingrays.com) by Wednesday evening if you would like to participate! If there are certain times/days that you prefer (or are not available), please include that information as well. A schedule will be e-mailed out by Thursday evening / Friday morning to those participating, along with further information.

Bottle Depot:
The Duncan Swim Team has an account at the bottle depot. When you return your bottles, instead of taking the cash, ask for the amount to be put on the swim team account. You will be asked to write your name.... please put your swimmer's name down and print clearly, so we know whose account to credit.
Moziro Coffee/Chocolate:
Moziro Coffee is a family owned local business that roasts high quality specialty coffee. Jake and Jenn Zaiss, who have two swimmers on our team, produce a product that is organic, Fair Trade and is roasted the day before delivery. See attached order form below. For each pound of coffee sold, and for each smoothie bar, $4 and $1 respectively goes to your swimmer's fundraising account. Makes a great gift for Christmas! Since we don't have our swim team drop box in the lobby yet, please e-mail the Fundraising Chair (e-mail address below) your order by the deadline indicated on the form. Payment can be made (please make cheques payable to DST) when you pick up your order.

About Us
The purpose of Duncan Stingrays Swim Team is to develop competitive swimmers as athletes and people. We understand that the real meaning of winning is to reach ones own potential, not the place of a swimmers finish. We strive to not only produce swimming champions but champions in life.
Our Mission
The mission of the Duncan Stingrays Swim Team is to embrace all levels of swimmers and provide each swimmer with the tools and opportunity to achieve any goal they may set. Every swimmer will enjoy success with hard work, dedication, and support from teammates, coaches and parents. Our members participate in meets sanctioned by Swim BC and are governed by Swimming/Natation Canada rules and regulations. The Duncan Stingrays Swim Team ascribes to a well-defined program where each swimmer is encouraged to gradually increase their degree of commitment to achieve success at all levels of training. The team provides an environment and an opportunity for young people to learn, to enjoy and to compete with an eye toward long term results.
